Privacy
Foruma is a public-beta discussion service. Contact the Foruma operators at forumainfo@gmail.com for privacy, account or content concerns. Do not send passwords, verification codes or sign-in links.
Public content and profiles
Published discussions, replies, paper metadata and public profile fields can be read and copied by visitors. Hidden, pending and private records are restricted by the site’s permission rules. Do not publish personal information you do not want shared. Noindex is a search-engine request, not access control.
Accounts and participation
The authentication service stores your sign-in email and password verification data for login, confirmation and recovery. Account identifiers, admission reservations, roles, moderation records and manual Beta grants support access controls and auditing. These are not public contact lists. Public-beta admission does not prove an institution affiliation or academic qualification. Institution verification is a separate, optional process.
Anonymous contributions
An anonymous identity is local to one discussion. Other readers are not given its real account mapping. Authorized administrators may access that mapping for moderation through a reasoned, privately audited action. Writing, links and information shared elsewhere may still identify you. Anonymity is not a promise that no operator or infrastructure provider can access the underlying records.
Private activity and device data
Bookmarks, personal notifications and follow lists are private to their owner. Session cookies maintain login. Drafts are stored in your browser and separated by account and writing context; they are not automatically uploaded or transferred between domains. Anyone with access to your browser profile may be able to read local drafts. See how to preserve drafts when moving domains.
Foruma uses restricted, deduplicated view records to count on-site page views and technical request information for abuse prevention and service operation. A page view is not a claim that a paper or PDF was read.
Service providers and external sources
Vercel hosts the application; Supabase provides authentication and database storage; Resend delivers account and optional verification email; Cloudflare Turnstile provides abuse challenges. These services process technical or delivery data needed for those functions under their own policies. External paper searches send the requested query or source identifier to the selected source. Foruma links to original papers rather than hosting their files.
Retention and requests
Account, content, source-version and audit records may be retained to preserve discussion integrity and investigate abuse. Hiding content is recoverable and does not delete its history or backups. Contact the operators to request an account or content review; there is no automatic deletion workflow or guaranteed immediate erasure. We will need to verify that a request concerns your account without asking for your password. Provider logs and backups have separate retention policies.
